Jack Benny's Christmas Open House

From December 24, 1950 (exactly 65 years ago today), this is a great Christmas Eve episode of Jack Benny with Phil Harris and Elliott Lewis making an appearance as Remley (a special occasion, as Remley was never heard on-mic on the Benny program). Merry Christmas!

The Television Test

From November 6, 1949. TV was still a relatively new invention in 1949, and wasn't quite the mainstream appliance everyone owned in the 50s yet. Of all the OTR programs to make the jump to television in the 1950s, the Harris-Faye show was not one of them, though it's easy to imagine if it had, it would be right up there with the likes of "I Love Lucy" as a classic program.

Audition Show

From July 10, 1946.  The first episode of the Phil Harris-Alice Faye show.

Episodes from the 1st and 2nd season are very rare; the remainder of the series is mostly complete. The first two seasons are outshone by the rest of the series once the show takes a different direction at the start of the 3rd season. Characters like Sissy the maid and the gardener disappear at the start of the 3rd season also, and new characters are brought in to better compliment the show's style.
